Enterprise Rent-A-Car set to open a branch in Canvey | Echo – Southend Echo

A MAJOR international car rental firm is set to come to Canvey.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has submitted an application to set up a branch in a vacant building at 368 Long Road.

The Missouri-based firm’s plans include an office for vehicle rental as well as a rental vehicle wash bay, car parking, and rental vehicle storage.

The application site is a vacant building which was built to be a veterinary surgery, with a dedicated parking and servicing area to the rear.

It is understood that the veterinary surgery building and the application site generally has remained vacant since it was built in 2016, according to planning documents submitted by the firm.

The building will not be demolished but refurbished to suit Enterprise’s purposes.

Similarly, the building’s associated car parking and servicing area will be used by Enterprise without amendment.

“It should be emphasised that the significant majority of “car parking” will be used by Enterprise for storage of its rental vehicles, rather than for vehicle parking in its traditional sense,” planning documents state.
